If you buy, rent or sell a building you will require a Building Certificate to demonstrate the energy rating, efficiency and grade of the building.

If your organisation is Public Sector you will require a Display Energy Certificate.

If your organisation is commercial, you will require an Energy Performance Certificate.

DEC for Public Authority Buildings 

DECs provide an energy rating of the building from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is the least efficient.

A DEC and Advisory Report are required for buildings with a total useful floor area over 1,000 m2 that are occupied in whole or part by public authorities or by institutions providing public services.

EPC for Commercial Buildings

EPCs model and provide an energy rating for commercial and industrial buildings.

The EPC is accompanied by an Advisory Report which will aid annual renewal of the certificate.
