Comply with the mandatory ESOS scheme
ESOS (the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme) is mandatory for large UK undertakings and their corporate groups. Qualifying companies who have not yet complied should act now, to avoid fines and civil penalties.
The scheme involves quantification and audits of energy used in buildings, industrial processes and transport to identify cost effective savings. If approached correctly, participation in ESOS is an opportunity to cut operating costs and carbon emissions.
It has been projected to deliver total savings of £1.9bn between 2015 and 2030 for UK businesses.
“Envantage’s ESOS report quality and timeliness of delivery was excellent, we had a very short timeline and Envantage jumped at the challenge.”

ESOS Phase 3
The third phase of ESOS is now underway, with a deadline for compliance of 5th December 2023. The second phase has now been completed, with a compliance deadline of 5th December 2019.
Organisations must carry out audits of their energy use in order to comply and to identify opportunities to save energy and carbon. Those who act in time not only secure compliance, they are able to save more money by acting quickly on the recommendations of their ESOS Reports.
