Senior carbon and energy consultant, Dr Dave Allen, has recently qualified as an EMA-accredited lead assessor for the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), adding further strength to the team’s expertise in this area.
Having been an integral part of the Envantage team for more than five years, Dave works with large scale industrial and commercial clients on a range of projects as they seek to reduce energy and carbon in their operations and meet their regulatory obligations. These include greenhouse gas assessments across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, product carbon footprinting and lifecycle analysis work, and onsite auditing.
He brings an enormous amount of knowledge and experience to the lead assessor role, offering valuable support to businesses as the deadline for ESOS phase 3 approaches.
Commenting, Dr Dave Allen said:
“This is a critical time for businesses to take action on ESOS as the deadline for phase 3 is now less than 12 months away. It was important for us as a business to increase our capacity for high quality lead assessment and I am delighted to take on this additional role.
At Envantage we always focus on the opportunities in the ESOS scheme and work with our clients to identify the maximum savings and routes to cutting carbon. Approached in this way, the work that goes into ESOS can be more than paid back through the savings that are identified.”
The Envantage team is highly experienced in the ESOS scheme, having audited over 1.2 TWh to ISO 50002 standard and typically identifying energy savings of 10-30% – translating into valuable cuts in operating costs. Not one Envantage client has failed an Environment Agency audit, for ESOS or any other scheme and none of the ESOS reports produced by the team’s specialist lead assessors required any form of remedial action.
If your business is looking to secure better value from the ESOS scheme, get in touch today to find out how our specialist lead assessors can support your business through phase 3.
